The use of graphic design and typography as a tool for Pan-Afrikanism: Erasing post-colonial constructed boundaries between Afrikan nations and it’s individuals.

Osmond Tshuma

Osmond Tshuma is a Zimbabwean award-winning designer and art director with a passion for design, craft and typography. Over the years, he has worked on numerous brands across Africa: from MTN and Telkom, to Standard Bank, RMB, SABC, Apartheid Museum, just to name a few. He has also been involved and spearheaded work for international brands, such as McDonald’s and BMW. His most notable campaigns are the IKwekwezi FM rebranding and the launch of the limited edition Soweto Gold ’76 commemorative beer. Featured on the Obama Foundation website for his unique designs, Osmond has also had projects published in both Singapore and the USA. His accolades include awards from the Pendoring show, Loeries, the New York One Show and Cannes. He is also a co-founder of Mam’gobozi Design Factory, a design studio in Johannesburg.
